Understanding Chronic Stress
Unlike short-term stress, chronic stress lingers in the body long after situations change. The nervous system becomes accustomed to heightened alertness, making rest and relaxation difficult.
Chronic stress may present as:
- Persistent fatigue or burnout
- Constant mental pressure or restlessness
- Muscle tension or body discomfort
- Irritability or emotional numbness
- Difficulty sleeping or switching off
Healing begins by helping the body recognize safety again.
