Understanding Grief & Trauma
Grief is a natural response to loss—of a loved one, relationship, identity, or sense of safety. Trauma occurs when an experience overwhelms the body’s capacity to cope, leaving lasting emotional or physical imprints.
These experiences may show up as:
- Emotional numbness or deep sadness
- Anxiety, fear, or hypervigilance
- Fatigue, heaviness, or disconnection
- Difficulty concentrating or sleeping
- Sensitivity to triggers or reminders
Healing begins when the body feels safe enough to soften.
